Beth: Being overdramatic, but...
Okay, that's it. I am charging my cell phone religiously from now on, as opposed to my previously very spotty track record. If I'm ever in a life-threatening situation and have the opportunity to call the people I love one last time, I don't want that to be cut short by my lack of phone battery. Because that would be my own stupid fault.
(Sorry for the morbid post, but I just got done watching A&E's "Flight 93" and while the acting was not the greatest, the memories from that day are still strong. And the passengers were able to know what to do in part due to cell phone conversations. So, moral of the story is to always keep one's cell phone charged. Because you just never know.)
What other people had to say

Also, in case of vehicular emergency, keep your cell phone either connected to the charger connected to the dash board or in some other easily reachable location. I went to a crash a couple years ago where the driver wasn't injured badly, but she was pinned in her car, upside down, on a back country road where no one spotted her for quite a while. Had there been cellular service, she did have access to her phone, because she'd thought to take it out of her purse. The purse, by the way, had fallen well out of her reach.

Charging your phone would also have the (perhaps) less exciting advantage of people ACTUALLY BEING ABLE TO CALL YOU ON IT!
Sorry for the caps... but you deserve it.

Julie - exactly! See? Everyone wins! Except I have to be honest, the chance of it being on "ring" instead of vibrate is rather low, and the chance of it being anywhere near me so I could notice the vibration is lower. Tee hee.

Hey- I'll be happy if you just look at it to see that I called you. Sooner than a month after the fact.
